How Can I Increase The Output Volume Of An Ipod Connected To A Stereo?

I have plugged my iPod into many different stereos and boom-boxes and the sound volume is much lower than radio, CD player, or other components.
I turn the volume all the way up on the stereo receiver or boom-box, and still the sound volume is low. This is consistent across all songs on the iPod.
Any recommendations for how can I fix this, and play an iPod through a stereo at loud volume?

first… if you have a decently new generation ipod…under settings on the ipod there is a maximum volume control that your ipod has to prevent the ipod from going to loud.. it is a parental thing for all the kids who were getting hearing problems….it is seperate from the volume control that you can change during the song playing… if that is the case… then i suggest only putting the volume at or a little above half way on the full volume scale. it is the best sound quality without distortion

make the volume louder and if that doesnt work go to the settings part of ur ipod and raise your maximum volume…….. good luck
