My computer crashed and my iTunes playlists were gone with it.
I now have a new computer. Can I add songs to my iPod via my new computer without erasing existing playlists/songs on my iPod?

I think you only need one thing, that is, ipod transfer.

Here is a solution. All you need is to get all existing music/videos from your iPod back to your new computer and iTunes. Simply use this handy transfer program called Tansee iPod Transferhttp://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tanse…
Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer.
With just a few simple clicks, it will help you copy all videos/songs from iPod back to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can easily add those files back to iTunes.
More importantly, this won’t overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved.
In this case, all songs/videos (both new and old) are on your iTunes library that you can syn with whenever you wish to without deleting any files.
Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process:http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transf…
Best luck!
For more iPod support information you can also go to http://www.apple.com
Don’t auto sync because ipod can only sync with one computer itunes or the ipod files will be erased. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There’re couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.
Absolutely YES. Manage your iPod manually with iTunes for FREE.
The following article provides good starting point for managing songs manually on iPod.

You can now manually manage your songs on iPod but be careful! DO NOT sync with iTunes.
If you hate iTunes, a better way to manage your iPod is using Bigasoft iPod Transfer. It works even without iTunes.
My friends recommend it to me, it’s not free, but it’s easy to use and works pretty well for me, I think it well worth the money. Here it is.

You may try this ipod transfer, it’s a nice iTunes alternative that can help you manage iPod files including delete, upload, play, copy, etc. It’s much easier to use than iTunes. It can also help you manage multiple iPods on one computer or manage iPod on multiple computers, even copy music and video from iPod back to computer or iTunes. So you will not lose your iPod files even though you switch to a new iTunes library. My friends recommend it to me, it works pretty well.http://ipod-to-computer.reviewstown.com/…
Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question
YES! To do this you will turn off the auto sync on itunes. Select to manage songs manually. You will then be able to drag any song into the ipod. I would also recommend taking the songs from your ipod and putting them into the new computer library.
Good Luck!
You can use an ipod to computer transfer program to copy all the files from ipod to your new computer first.I personally use Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps me to transfer my songs/videos/photos from ipod to my computer directly and safely. It works well for me,you can give it a try.
